Maria V. Sanclemente came to New York for a two-week stay in early 2007, fell in love with the bustling city, got her real estate license and never looked back. With over 10 years in the business, Maria has both onsite sales experience and a vast background in buyer investors at new developments. As a longtime resident of the city's Financial District she quickly rose to be one of the most recognizable and distinguished downtown real estate agents. In the past few years she has sold north of $100 million dollars in The Financial District alone. Before joining Douglas Elliman, Maria was the On-Site Sales Director at the William Beaver House Condominium where she achieved a record breaking 167 transactions and has also served as Sales Director for the Cipriani Residences at 55 Wall Street.

Her expertise selling and marketing buildings has served to enlighten many international clients of the incredible growth and investment potential in New York City real estate. In addition to her experience in downtown Manhattan, Maria has also sold $82 million of property on the Upper West Side that landed her a feature in the real estate book, "Local Einsteins: What to Know Before Buying Or Selling A Home."

Fluent in Spanish and English, Maria proudly serves an international client base by traveling frequently to South America to bring Manhattan to the world. She understands the complexities of different markets and the different types of properties available to the foreign buyer. She shares her knowledge by conducting seminars and participating in exhibitions in Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, and Spain to educate her colleagues and clients alike. In 2014, Maria launched The SLS Team with her partners, Michael and Eleonora, to properly service her clients in all areas of the market.

A native of Colombia, Maria moved to Miami at age 17 to pursue a culinary career. She has an Associate's degree in Dietetics from Miami Dade College and a Culinary Arts Degree from Johnson & Wales University. Furthering her education she also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Restaurant Management at Florida International University. As a certified sommelier, Maria pursues her love for travel, good food and wine in her free time. She is a true "foodie" and restaurant aficionado. "I try to provide all of my clients from wherever they may be with a pleasant experience while looking for the perfect home, walking them through the process, and introducing them to my knowledge of the market and the great cultural pleasures that New York has to offer."
